The show’s goal is to help you learn about different ways you heal from past emotional wounds and trauma. Hosted by mental health therapist Rosa Shetty, who specializes in helping adults heal from childhood trauma. In this episode, I had the opportunity to talk with mental health therapist Alejandro Sandoval. In our conversation, Alejandro shared about men's unique healing journey in mental health therapy. We discussed the generational patterns transferred to men, such as machismo, disconnection from emotions, and lack of vulnerability. Alejandro is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist practicing privately in Pasadena, California. Alejandro works with men struggling with relationships, emotional intimacy, and connection. Alejandro uses a cultural trauma lens, and treatment modalities such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Brainspotting, TRM (Trauma Resiliency Module), and parts work to help individuals heal and connect better with those they love.

For this episode, I invited Crystal Frazee, a doctor in physical therapy and an expert on burnout and recovery in women. Dr. Frazee shares the importance of connecting to the wisdom of our bodies. She describes the transmission of generational patterns of self-sacrifice, depletion, and perfectionism often passed on by our mothers and grandmother. For this episode, I invited Prisca Dorcas Mojica Rodriguez. Prisca is a storyteller, public theologian, and feminist. She is also the best-selling author of the book titled "For Brown Girls with Sharp Edges and Tender Hearts." In our conversation, Prisca shares how writing has helped her heal. We talked about connecting with the inner child through writing practice. We also talked about her life, being born/raised in Nicaragua, and how her healing journey has unfolded concurrently with her writing career.
